pt kids | meet camp leader kaitlin!

Registration for the first ever PT KiDS Summer Theatre School is gearing up! As we count down to July 9th and the arrival of the kids, we thought we'd let you know a little bit more about staff member Kaitlin Williams who will be teaching the course.

Kaitlin is a local Vancouver actor and the PT staff member in charge of community outreach. She received her BFA in acting from UVic in 2009, and has ever since been connected with Pacific Theatre either as an apprentice, actor or as a member of the staff. She also has a long history of teaching kids, and is very excited to take on PT's first ever kids camp. Here are some highlights of past kids camps she's taught:

Chasing after kids at backyard day camps in 2006.

Running the Galiano Girls Summer camp.

Working at Arts Umbrella teaching theatre to kids.

Directing a kids Christmas pageant for kids in Surrey.

She loves seeing kids discover the joy of theatre and performance for the first time. She knows the week at the PT camp will be a blast and can't wait to connect with PT's younger community.

After teaching a kids drama club in 2010, one parent said “...Aidan had a really good time. This is nice to see with him. He is usually very shy and quiet and doesn't talk to new people, but anytime he has a chance to be on stage or in a production, he just really opens up. I was very happy to see him talking to Kaitlin tonight after the practice. It says a lot about her!”
